This FREE 7-week design circle is an opportunity to create, learn and gain a one-of-a-kind experience into the publishing industry.

You will learn the process of book design, hear from publishing professionals and create a finished project that will go in your portfolio with an extended resume and cover letter review.

All meetings will be held virtually through Google Meets (not recorded).

 
 

Week 1 – Foundations of the Publishing Industry & Tools

  • Adobe setup: Install Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator; configure them for book work

  • Typography basics: Font categories, pairing principles, hierarchy

  • Group chat: First check‑in—introductions, goals, software setup feedback
